US Senate passes Iran War Powers Resolution before August?
This market will resolve to “Yes” if the United States Senate successfully passes a War Powers Resolution restricting, limiting, terminating, or requiring congressional authorization for U.S. military action against Iran at any time after the creation of this market and before August 1, 2026 – 00:00 PST.
Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.”
For the purposes of this market:
• A qualifying resolution must formally pass the U.S. Senate by majority vote under Senate procedures.
• The resolution does not need to pass the House of Representatives, become law, survive judicial review, or overcome a presidential veto to qualify for a “Yes” outcome.
• “War Powers Resolution” refers to legislation, concurrent resolutions, joint resolutions, or similar congressional measures explicitly invoking Congress’s constitutional or statutory authority to limit, restrict, terminate, or require authorization for U.S. military hostilities involving Iran.
• Procedural votes, failed cloture motions, committee approvals, introduced bills, or resolutions that do not ultimately pass the Senate chamber do not qualify.
• Resolutions concerning only sanctions, diplomacy, intelligence operations, or non-military matters do not qualify unless they directly restrict or govern military action against Iran.
