Rules

This market will resolve to “Yes” if the Bank of Canada, in its interest rate announcement published on December 9, 2026, announces a target for the overnight rate that is higher than the target in force immediately before that announcement, before December 10, 2026 - 00:00 UTC.

Otherwise this market will resolve to “No.”

For the purposes of this market: the comparison is between the official Bank of Canada target for the overnight rate in force immediately before the December 9, 2026 announcement (currently 2.25% at time of market creation) and the target announced on December 9, 2026. A published announcement that the rate is unchanged, lower, or if no interest-rate decision is published by the Bank of Canada before December 10, 2026 - 00:00 UTC, will result in a “No.” Only announcements made after this market’s creation are eligible to resolve this market.
