Rules
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Trump administration implements a new broad-based tariff that is legally instituted and publicly announced before December 31, 2026 - 00:00 PST.
Otherwise this market will resolve to "No."
For the purposes of this market: "Trump administration" refers to the U.S. executive branch while Donald J. Trump is serving as President of the United States. A "new broad-based tariff" means a tariff or set of tariffs enacted by the U.S. federal government that increases duty rates or establishes duties applying to multiple product categories or a sector- or economy-wide class of imports (for example, an across-the-board ad valorem increase, sectoral tariffs covering an entire industry, or a tariff regime change affecting broad classes of goods). Narrow, company-specific, single-SKU, or narrowly targeted antidumping/countervailing duties that apply only to a single importer or narrowly defined product description do not qualify. The tariff measure must be enacted and have an effective date prior to the deadline, and only tariff measures announced or enacted after the creation of this market are eligible for resolution.
