OpenAI bankrupt before 2028?
This market will resolve to “Yes” if OpenAI (defined below) files for bankruptcy, is the subject of an involuntary bankruptcy order, or has a court-appointed receiver, liquidator, or trustee appointed over its primary commercial corporate entity at any time after the creation of this market and before January 1, 2028 - 00:00 UTC.
Otherwise this market will resolve to “No.”
For the purposes of this market:
• “OpenAI” means OpenAI, OpenAI Global, LLC, or any successor corporate entity that operates OpenAI’s primary commercial business.
• A qualifying “bankruptcy” is a voluntary or involuntary filing under any jurisdiction’s bankruptcy or insolvency laws (for example, a Chapter 7 or Chapter 11 petition filed in a U.S. bankruptcy court), a court order for liquidation or insolvency, or the formal appointment by a court of a receiver, liquidator, or trustee to administer or wind up the company’s assets.
• Bankruptcy filings or orders that affect only unrelated subsidiaries qualify only if they legally apply to the primary commercial entity defined above.
• Restructurings, debt exchanges, creditor workouts, covenant breaches, missed payments, or rumors do not qualify unless they result in a qualifying bankruptcy event as defined here.
• Only filings or occurrences that happen after the creation of this market are eligible for resolution.
